Garage door repairs in Boksburg: roll-up doors, Digidoor motors and spares

A roll-up door is one curtain of steel slats on a drum above the opening, with its springs inside the drum. Most of what goes wrong with one shows up in the way it moves:

• It's turned heavy, or drops when you let go of it halfway. The springs have tired or lost tension. They're set or replaced first, because no motor should be left fighting them.
• It judders, jams or rubs at one side. The side guide is dented, often by a car, or there's grit in the channel. Hydro Doors wants a roll-up door's side tracks kept clean and free of grease and dirt, and we straighten or replace a bent guide.
• It lifts crooked. One end of the curtain is catching, or the drum has shifted on its brackets.
• The motor runs, but the door stays put. The motor has been released for opening by hand and not re-engaged. If it only hums, the door may be jammed and the motor is straining against it.
• It opens and closes by hand, but the motor does nothing. Power, battery, board or remote: we test them in that order.

Don't try to adjust a roll-up door's springs yourself; they hold the door's whole weight under tension.
